It is important that you check whether or not your cabinets have self closing hinges before you order the soft close attachment.
The soft close attachment will only work if you have self closing hinges.
The easiest way to tell if you have self closing hinges is to hold your cabinet door open a couple of inches. Can you feel any tension in the door wanting to close on it's own? Gently let the door go. Does it close by itself? If it does you probably have self closing hinges. If it wants to stay open then you don't have self closing hinges.
Another way to check is to look at your hinges themselves. Can you see them from the outside of the cabinet like these hinges? If you can, they are not self closing hinges. The soft-close attachment will not work with this type of hinges.
Most self closing hinges are not visible from the outside of the cabinet. The very popular "European" style hinge looks similar to this hinge. The majority of cabinets made in the last decade have this style of hinge. If you have this style of hinge then the soft-close attachment will work perfectly in your cabinets.
